Islamic Capital Market Talent Development (ICMTD)

Offered since 2009, The Islamic Capital Market Talent Development (ICMTD) programme (formerly known as the Islamic Capital Market Graduate Training Scheme – ICMGTS) is a capacity-building initiative by the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) and run by the Securities Industry Development Corporation (SIDC) to facilitate the development and upskilling of human capital for the Islamic Capital Market (ICM).

The framework and structure for the ICMTD programme have been elevated to equip its graduates with the knowledge and skills that are suited for client advisory roles in offering capital market products and services. The ICMTD programme is industry focused and will be delivered through a wide variety of methodologies which include virtual classroom, hands-on workshop, facilitated business simulation project on fund management, case study discussions, presentations, e-learning and career development support. The programme also comprises internship opportunities for selected participants* to kickstart their careers in ICM, thus simultaneously channelling fresh talents for future developmental needs of the Malaysian capital market.

The ICMTD programme consists of a 2-month intensive virtual training for all, followed by a 3-month internship at participating organisations for selected participants*. The intensive virtual training includes technical modules, soft skills modules and e-learning modules, anchored on the following 5 pillars:

  2. Core Capital Market
  3. Technology
  4. Sustainability
  5. Self-Development

*Internship participants will be selected based on their overall performance during the assessment to join the programme.

Internship Period**:
14 August 2023 – 13 November 2023

Its main objective is to produce entry-level professionals with strong fundamental knowledge and skills in Islamic Capital Market.

Virtual classrooms via webinars, hands-on virtual workshop, business simulation project, case study discussions, presentations, e-learning, facilitated forums, gamification and career development support.

  1. Malaysian citizen
  2. Fresh graduates and entry-level professionals not exceeding 30 years of age, with less than 3 years of working experience
  3. Possess excellent inter-personal and communication skills
  4. Have at least a degree with CGPA of 3.0, 70% or Second Class Upper and above or its equivalent from a recognised institution of higher learning in any of the following fields:
