Today, it’s a key driver of competitiveness as governments introduce ESG regulations and global companies demand greater accountability across their supply chains The Certified Corporate Sustainability Practitioner 1(CCSP 1) programme equips professionals with the knowledge and skills to drive sustainability transformation. It focuses on upskilling and reskilling in sustainability reporting and governance, enhancing the quality, accuracy, and reliability of sustainability data and disclosures—ultimately strengthening corporate Malaysia’s competitiveness in the global arena Participants may proceed to enrol for CCSP 1 by registering for the following components:

This programme is designed to equip participants with the skills to drive sustainability transformation by upskilling and reskilling in reporting and governance, while enhancing the quality, accuracy, and reliability of sustainability data and disclosures to boost corporate Malaysia’s competitiveness
By the end of the programme, participants will be able to:
  • explain key sustainability factors, concepts, principles, strategies, and methodologies used to evaluate and strengthen a corporate sustainability framework.
  • interpret and apply key concepts and requirements of the sustainability reporting landscape, including the assurance ecosystem, conceptual foundations, and mandatory disclosure requirements.
  • integrate ESG principles, strategies, and methodologies into organisational decision-making, operations, and governance processes in accordance with Malaysian regulatory requirements, established taxonomies, standards, and best practices.
  • conduct sustainability assessments using recognised methodologies, relevant data, and criteria to evaluate compliance and alignment with Malaysian regulatory frameworks, taxonomies, standards, and best practices, and to provide informed recommendations for organisational sustainability initiative

METHODOLOGY

Certified Corporate Sustainability Practitioner 1 (CCSP1) is conducted via blended mode and comprises the following components:
  1. Bursa Malaysia Corporate Sustainability Practitioner (CSP) 2.0 Digital Self-Assessment Tool;
  2. Workshop: NSRF Preparers’ Programme (NPP) Module 1 – Sustainability Reporting Using the ISSB Illustrative Sustainability Report,
  3. eLearning: CCSP 1 – Sustainability, ESG and SRI Essentials; and
  4. CCSP 1 Summative Assessment
  • CC03 Corporate Governance
  • FOR05 Islamic Capital Market Regulations
  • FOP05 Sustainable and Responsible Investment Products
  • FUT10 Sustainability/SRI Analysis

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Minimum SPM qualification (or equivalent)

DURATION OF MODULES

The total duration for CCSP 1 programme is maximum of 12 weeks* (3 months)
  1. Bursa Malaysia Corporate Sustainability Practitioner (CSP) 2.0 Digital Self-Assessment Tool.
  2. Workshop = 1-day workshop.
  3. e-Learning Modules (8 Modules) = 30 minutes per module.
  4. Summative Assessment = 120 minutes
*CCSP 1 is a self-paced learning programme, and participants may complete it with a minimum of 15 contact hours.

TARGET AUDIENCE

Professionals and aspiring sustainability practitioners, including Chief Sustainability Officers, managers, executives, and analysts, as well as CMSRL license holders, sustainability strategists, reporting and engagement specialists, risk managers, sustainability report preparers and assurance providers.

COMPLETION REQUIREMENTS

Completion of the programme is upon fulfilment of all requirements below:
  1. Completion of the Bursa Malaysia Corporate Sustainability Practitioner (CSP) 2.0 Digital Self-Assessment Tool;
  2. Completion of Workshop: NSRF Preparers’ Programme (NPP) Module 1 – Sustainability Reporting Using the ISSB Illustrative Sustainability Report;
  3. Completion of e-Learning: CCSP 1 – Sustainability, ESG and SRI Essentials or Sustainability, ESG and SRI Essentials; and
  4. Passing CCSP 1 Summative Assessments.

The NSRF Preparers’ Programme (NPP) Module 1 Workshop: Sustainability Reporting Using the ISSB Illustrative Sustainability Report is designed to provide practical guidance on the preparation of sustainability reports aligned with the ISSB framework. The workshop covers key concepts, reporting processes, and required disclosures, and demonstrates how the ISSB Illustrative Sustainability Report can be used as a practical reference tool.

Programme Overview

This eLearning programme comprises eight (8) modules that cover the fundamentals of sustainability and ESG (environmental, social, and governance) principles, focusing on the identification and management of ESG risks, as well as their integration into organisational decision-making, operations, and governance in line with Malaysian regulatory requirements, established taxonomies, standards, and best practice.

Programme Objective

The eLearning programme is designed to equip participants with a comprehensive and structured understanding of the fundamentals of sustainability and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles. It covers core concepts, regulatory requirements, relevant standards and frameworks, as well as the identification and management of ESG-related risks.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the eLearning programme, participants will be able to:
  • Explain the fundamental concepts and principles of sustainability and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) frameworks within the context of organisational strategy and performance.
  • Identify and interpret key regulatory requirements, standards, and frameworks relevant to sustainability and ESG practices in Malaysia and internationally.
  • Assess the implications of ESG-related risks and opportunities on organisational decision-making, operations, and governance processes.
  • Apply foundational sustainability and ESG knowledge to support the development and implementation of effective sustainability initiatives and reporting practices within their organisations
 
Module 1: Overview of Sustainability, ESG and SRI

Overview This module provides participants a view of the fundamentals of sustainability, ESG and SRI. As one of the fastest growing transformational corporate concepts in decades, sustainability is becoming a top agenda item of many stakeholder groups. This module defines sustainability and its components to support corporations and the financial sector in making this transition.
Learning Outcomes At the end of this module, participants will be able to:
  1. Explain the definitions of environmental, social and governance pillars
  2. Identify the drivers of sustainability within stakeholder groups such as government, the financial sector, investors, customers, employees and consumers.

  1. Explain the importance of global notable ESG regulations
  2. Describe the Malaysian regulatory landscape and its disclosure regulations and guidance
  3. Recognise the regulator’s role in driving Malaysia’s sustainable development, SRI and ESG
