Cyber Security: Cyber Proofing for the Next Wave

Cyber Security: Cyber Proofing for the Next Wave

Dates:  26 February 2018 (8.30am - 1.00pm)
Venue: Securities Commission Malaysia
Accreditation: SIDC CPE-approved: 5 CPE points

The new reality of the capital market industry is now shaped by rapid innovation, increased competition and rising consumer expectations. Rapid innovation in turn, has led to the growing number of reported cyber-attacks on businesses forcing organisations to re-evaluate their cyber security strategies and preventive measures. As the industry has experienced with the recent spate of cyber incidents that has occurred in Malaysia, the cyber criminals out there are getting more and more technically advanced, aggressive and `creative’ in their cyber-attacks. If they are not able to breach their target directly, they find ways to attack multiple sources or `the weak-links’.
This programme will discuss the nature and types of cyber security threats that the experts anticipate in the next wave, how to assess and fortify the weak links, how to respond to cyber incidents and avoid or minimise impact to the organisation’s customers, finances and reputation.
This programme aims to provide the latest updates on the increasingly sophisticated and advanced cyber threats that cyber security experts predict may occur while promoting greater security and integrity planning through effective security measures in order to build an organisations’ cyber risk resilience.
